Night Watcher

Night Watcher is an 8" x 10" mosaic (9¼" x 11¼" framed) created with a blend of glass and ceramic tiles, inspired by an evening walk when a lone owl fixed its gaze on Paul and kept watch the entire time.

That quiet, electric moment of being observed in the dark is captured in the owl's bright, alert eyes and the intricate patterning of its feathers. Hand-cut tiles form the owl's striking silhouette against a deep night sky, accented with subtle pops of color that suggest flowers or drifting shapes in the dusk.

The mix of materials adds depth and texture, giving the piece a tactile presence that echoes the stillness and mystery of nighttime wildlife. Night Watcher is a tribute to that unforgettable encounter—a guardian of the night rendered in shimmering tile.
